OTTO INDUSTRIES BUILDS PLASTICS PLANT IN ELOY, ARIZONA
Otto Industries Group Worldwide will locate a plastic injection-molding company in Eloy, Arizona located approximately 45 miles south of Phoenix on Interstate 10. Headquartered in Maastricht, Holland, the company plans an initial $10 million investment in a 35,ooo sq. ft.   facility on an 18-acre parcel in the Eloy Industrial Park. Established in Germany in 1934, Otto Group Worldwide has a presence in 35 countries with some two thousand employees around the globe. This privately owned, Multi-national Corporation has a manufacturing facility in Charlotte, NC and supplies the second largest Arizona-based public company, Allied Waste Industries, Inc.

The plant, currently under construction, will produce two-wheeled waste and recycling containers and custom molding for distribution primarily to clients in the western and central United States. “Otto Group Worldwide is the largest manufacturer of such containers in the world today," says Arizona Department of Commerce Director, Margie A. Emmermann. “Regional cooperation involving public and private organizations was key to their decision to locate in Arizona.

Otto Industries Vice President, Phillip Trussell also credits assistance from the City of Eloy, the Greater Casa Grande Valley Economic Development Foundation, The Arizona Department of Commerce and Arizona Public Service. “A high degree of professionalism combined with proximity to markets, good interstate and rail access, the availability of labor and a stable supply of services - especially electricity - made Arizona the most appealing site for this plant,“ he says.

“We are very pleased that Otto Industries has chosen Eloy for this injection molding facility,” says Mayor Ben Cruz. “Our emphasis on economic development and cooperation among city departments allowed us to expedite the location process. The City wholeheartedly welcomes this quality company and the jobs they bring and we look forward to continuing our working relationship throughout construction.”

The Executive Director of the Greater Casa Grande Valley Economic Development Foundation, Lori Gary, CEcD, is proud of the regional cooperation evident in the efforts to secure the company as well. “It has indeed been a pleasure to work with Otto Industries during their site selection process. We are delighted that Eloy was selected as the final location and that the jobs averaging $11 to $13 an hour will be added to our area. Our strong partnership with the State, Arizona Public Service (APS), City of Eloy and Eloy Industrial Developers Inc. – owners of the industrial park – continues to enhance our ability as a regional economic development organization to attract quality employers like Otto Industries.”
